What is ESG?

ESG stands for 'Environmental, Social and Governance' and covers essential information about a company's environmental and climate performance, its social and societal impact and the overall governance of the company. This is data that is NOT financial data.

Banks, investors, suppliers and customers increasingly demand this data when assessing a company's ability to create value and long-term growth opportunities.

Right now it is not a REQUIREMENT, but we can expect to see a future where it will be a requirement.

In the EU, work on the so-called taxonomy regulation and the renewed Sustainable Investment Strategy will have a fundamental impact on the requirements for companies on climate and environmental data. And these developments are likely to spill over into other data requirements in the areas of 'Social' and 'Governance'.

It struck me how much value it really added
